Lives Beneath The School Bag:

If your child is going to school....then you have to think and concentrate on his/her  body and mind. This topic is totally attached with all those school going children who carry heavy school bag on shoulders more than  their capacity. According to survey 2014 in India the child school bag weight is approximate 8kg on shoulder of each child.

In India the school remain open approximately 200 plus days  in a year. The child has to carry  approximately 16 kg in a single day and as per calculation 3200 kg in whole year. This weight is equivalent to pick up one truck. On the daily basis we can observe that our child is losing his/her childhood just because they are struck under the weight of books and alot of pressure which it affecting them physically as well as mentally. Every day in each school child attend 9 periods of 35 minutes to 40 minutes  without any gap....Due to this non stop process children usually remain puzzle.

Children take one book and one notebook in their bags for each period. It will ruffle 18 books and note books in a single bag of each child...... This daily routine of a child  end them up with lots of stress and  pressure... After school time most of children remain busy in tuition... Till late night they usually complete home work and assignments given by tuition teacher and school...That innocent child never gets that when he has grown up so much in this hustle of life...Due to all these  some students try to convey their problems in public but nothing can be seen to resolve all these problems.

R.K Narayan Sansad of Rajey Saba  was very upset to saw the education system of India and heavy bags on little shoulders. In 1986, He conveyed his message that the school bag weight should not be more than 2 to 3 kg for primary wing students and 4 to 6 kg for middle and higher wings students but, present system have made a child just like donkey. After 1986 to till 2019 going to complete there nothing have been seen or change in education system.

It's mentioned in Child school bag act 2006 that weight of school bag should be 10% or less than 10% as per child weight. It also mentioned the school should provide lockers  and  cup boards to keep these heavy bags of children's. As per survey in 2012, it was examined on 2000 thousand students with age from 5 to 12 year and found more than 80% students carry heavy school bag as per their capacity. They were suffering from shoulder and back pain problems, even they can't sit and stand properly due to this pain. In 2015 Maharashtra government submitted a report to Bombay Highcourt and attempted heavy school bag the main cause of problem and its result more than 58% students suffered from pain upto 10 year age. Now you can see how heavy bags and education system problems are faced by our little ones.


How to overcome from this system.

Some following steps and solutions can help us:


  • School should provide almirah and locker to keep heavy bags.

  • In European countries schools provide almriah and locker to every child  to keep their bags and some heavy books which they cant carry everyday ....


  • School can be conducted upto five periods daily instead of 8 to 9 periods in a day.



  • First (four to five) subjects like Mathematics, English, Hindi, Social Sciences, Drawings etc.. can be taught in first three days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.



  • Second  (five to nine) subjects like Science, Computer, Punjabi, Gernal Knowledge and Sanskrit etc.. can be taught on next three days Thursday, Friday, Saturday.



  • Each period can be of 50 to 55 minutes which can help each child to concentrate on study easily...



  • 10 minutes can be set free for relaxation of  mind after completion of each period.

  • Daily one period can be set up for sports, drawings, music and other activities etc.

  • Play way and Practical systems can help child to understand more as compare to theory system.

Note: 

Practically 5 periods system have been adopted by some schools in (Punjab) India and they have completed the syllabus of each academic year very smoothly before December. Every year results are coming very good. The students are totally free from these heavy bags and enjoying study with relaxing mind from whole subjects system in each year.
